Argentina: Catena Malbec 2009

Nota -> 4 de 5.

Site -> Catena.

In English:

Since Catena is the same for quality in terms of argentinian wine, I was expecting nothing less than a good wine - but not this good.

For me it can be defined as a safe buy: the classic malbec expression, by the people who have been working a lot to definitely tame the grape.

In my opinion is the right time to uncork it: everything is working well, harmony is the word.

I really think that the magnum bottle has a different ageing process. Pro(s), please help me here.

There is something clearly floral, the sweet notes come along. Hard to define everything we find but very easy to like it.

On the palate it is sweet and savoury. Pure velvet. You just do not feel the alcohol.

A very good Malbec presentation for anyone who do not know it, or every single one who is missing it or have been a long time far from it.

A blend from 4 vineyards, each one at a different height and soil, and different nuances.

Grade -> 4 out of 5.

Price -> bought at a restaurant, something like US$55 (I know, in Brazil we are constantly robbed).

Site -> Catena.
